Half bear, half shark...watch out!

He literally climbed into an old diaper box
and covered up with his blanket all by himself...

And then he popped out...Peek-a-boo!!!

Fall Pictures

Since it had been almost a year since we had family pictures done, we decided it was time to do it again!  Do you know how hard it is to get a toddler to stay still and smile for a picture?  Oh my goodness, it was exhausting, BUT we did get some good ones!

Christmas 2011

We had a great Christmas this year! Paxton is at an age where he kind of understands what's going on now. We thought it would be fun to start a tradition where we go to the Gaylord Texan during Christmas time each year. The Gaylord is a huge hotel out in Grapevine that's the size of a casino. There are a few restaurants inside and for Christmas, they decorate the entire place with beautiful lights, trains, a life-size gingerbread house that you can actually walk in to, Santa, a huge spinning Christmas tree...I could go on. We went with our friends Paul and Britney and their two kids. Everyone had a great time checking out the place.

We took Paxton to the mall to meet Santa. They had a neat setup where you meet an Ice Princess, then go into a 'snow' room, then move on to meet Santa. He loved the Ice Princess. In fact, while the photographer was trying to take his picture, he kept sticking his tongue out. It was pretty funny! Luckily we were able to get a shot where he was smiling. Last year, Paxton didn't have a problem meeting Santa. This year, however, he started crying when we put him in his lap. I guess I can't blame him.

We went to my parents' on Christmas Eve and stayed through Christmas Day. Both of my brothers were there as well as my sister-in-law and the kiddos. The kids had a great time opening gifts. Paxton seemed to be more interested in his cousins' gifts. We had to keep telling him to come and open his own. Everyone had a great Christmas!

Let's Go Camping...scratch that...Let's Go Cabining!

Last year we took a trip with another couple out to Beavers Bend in Oklahoma.  We had such a great time that we thought we'd make it an annual event.  So, this year, we got four couples together and all of our kids (there were 14 of us total) and rented a huge cabin out in the wilderness.  Ok, it wasn't really the wilderness since it was right off the highway, but still.  The Aguilars, Moores, Eliases, and our family went up there.

On the 3 1/2 or so hour drive up, poor little P got carsick and vomited everywhere...and I mean EVERYWHERE!  When we got in, we had to take his whole carseat apart, hose it out, and wash the material.  Poor kid.

The trip was great and the weather was perfect.  We went fishing and hiking during the days, then once the kids went to bed, the adults jumped in the hot tub.  Paxton is definitely all boy.  He would sit in the mud by the lake and during our hike, he stuck his foot (shoe and all) in the river.

I think the highlight of the weekend for the kids was that a black cat appeared at our doorstep the first night we were there.  The guys were out at the grill cooking and decided to feed it.  So, lo and behold, this cat hung out with us the entire weekend.  It would follow us everywhere...to the lake, back up to the house, it would lay out on the patio, and sit by the front door trying to sneak in.  This cat got more attention from these kiddos than it probably has in all it's life.

Yep, this is definitely going to be an annual event!  Good times!

Spidey!

For Halloween this year, Paxton dressed up as Spiderman.  The costume was pretty cool, it had built in muscles which made daddy proud!  It came with a mask that Paxton wasn't too fond of, however, he absolutely LOVED wearing the rest of the costume.  If he saw it sitting around, he'd pick it up and bring it to me to put on him.  Or he would attempt to put his legs through the pants on his own.

We went trick-or-treating with our friends and their kids, Evan and Ashlynn.  Evan is close to Pax's age, and they go to the same nanny, so they're pretty good buds.  We walked up and down one block, taking the kids up to each house.  Paxton didn't quite get what he was supposed to do.  We would walk up with him and he would either try to walk into the person's house or play with whatever they had sitting on their front porch.  He made me carry his candy bag the whole time too...well, except for the times when he would try to reach in there to grab a sucker.  This kid's favorite candy is suckers.  He makes a huge, sticky, drooly mess when he eats them...like the kind where you have to put him and everything on him in the bathtub.  But it's worth it seeing this little guy walking around with a lollipop sticking out of his mouth.

Pax and Evan...best buds

He really wants that sucker!

Pumpkin Patch 2011

We took Pax to this huge pumpkin patch out in Flower Mound.  Pumpkins were scattered across about 10 acres of land.  They had a train, hayride, bouncy houses and a maze made out of hay bales...oh, and a TON of people.  Out of all the fun things to do, Paxton decided that he would devote his undivided attention to a wagon he found.  He would try to push it, pull it, move it, whatever.  He was infatuated and actually got mad at us when we swept him away to go on a hayride!
