I cannot believe my baby is 3! Paxton is such an amazing, smart, talented little boy. He always has us laughing, whether it's because he makes up funny songs or because he decides to take a sharpie and tattoo his entire body, we can't help but laugh. For his birthday this year, he wanted to invite his friends to Chuck E. Cheese. Leading up to it, that's all he would talk about. He would even ask for toys he'd see on commercials for his 'birthday party'. He wanted a Batman party with a Batman cake. Unfortunately, the only Batman cake we could find at the store was not impressive whatsoever. So, I told him I'd make his cake extra special with a Batman on top. He had a great time playing at Chuck E. Cheese with his friends and cousins, although, when Chuck E. Cheese came over to wish him a happy birthday, he freaked out and clung to my legs. Umm...kid, why did you want a birthday party here if you don't like the mascot?! Haha. Paxton chose his cousin, Carsyn, to go into the Ticket Blaster with him to catch some tickets. Pax would catch some, then throw them back (umm, you're suppose to keep them, silly!) and Carsyn caught some big tickets including the ticket worth 1000! The kids had fun, the place was so busy and chaotic, and I was tired by the time it was over. Check that one off the list.
On Paxton's actual birthday, a Monday, Alan took the day off work and wanted to hang out with him. He took him to the Original Pancake House for breakfast, then to the Indoor Safari Park, and then to a place with tons of bounce houses. Paxton was in heaven! Later that day, when I got home from work, we took him to PetsMart to look at the animals. No, we were definitely not going to buy anything other than a fish...but he still had fun looking at the gerbils, hamsters, rats, birds, snakes, and cats. He was cracking up watching a hamster run in its wheel. We ended up getting him a betta fish, which is totally my style...easy peesy to keep up with. Pax picked a blue one and named him "Blue"...how fitting. (Sidenote: He quickly forgot about the fish after the first day we got him. That means I get to feed the thing every day now. Awesome.) We got home and sang Happy Birthday to our little man. He made sure to have Blue sit next to him while he blew out his candles and made a mess out of his cake.
