Milestones

PAXTON

Birthday:  May 13, 2010

First bath at home:  May 17, 2010 (4 days)  Mommy and daddy tried to give Pax a bath in his little tub and he cried the whole time.

First trip to ER:  June 7, 2010 (3 1/2 weeks)  Paxton was spitting up non stop for a couple of hours.  The on-call doctor suggested taking him to the ER.  They did an X-ray on his stomach to make sure he didn't need surgery.  Thank goodness he didn't, and it was just a case of reflux.

First babysitter:  (2 months) Amy Spencer watched Paxton at our house while we had a date night at the Improv in Addison.  She made sure to send pictures throughout the evening so we could see what Pax was up to :)

First time to smile:  (2 months)  First non-gas smile!

First time to roll over:  (2 months)  Once he started, he wouldn't stop!

First road trip:  July 30, 2010 (2 1/2 months) To Grove, Oklahoma.  We decided to leave at night so that he would sleep the whole way there, and sure enough, he did.  What an angel!

First time to sleep through the night: (2 1/2 months)  Paxton is a great sleeper.  At 10 weeks, we decided not to wake him up for feedings anymore.  He will sleep anywhere between 8-12 hours at night.

First laugh:  (3 months)  Most precious sound ever!

First time to sleep in his own crib:  (4 months)  He slept with us up until then.  One day, he fell asleep in my arms and we decided we'd try to put him in his crib just to see how he'd do.  He adjusted very well!

First airplane ride:  September 8, 2010 (4 months)  We flew to Arizona for a friend's wedding.  Luckily, we were upgraded to first class on the way there.  Paxton was great!  On the trip back though, it was only Mommy and Pax (Alan had to stay out there for business), and Paxton cried...talk about stressful!

First time eating solid food:  September 30, 2010 (4 1/2 months)  Rice cereal.  Took him a few tries to figure out how to eat with a spoon.

First time to sit up:  (6 months)  He was wobbly for a few weeks before, but really got the hang of it at 6 months!

First night away from Mommy & Daddy:  November 20, 2010 (6 months)  Nana and Pops' house while we went to the Dallas Margarita Ball.

First time holding his own bottle:  December 1, 2010 (6 1/2 months)  Nice that he can feed himself now.

First sleepover (not family):  December 22, 2010 (7 1/2 months)  Pajama sleepover at the babysitter's house.  She had a big slumber party with all of the kids she watches.

First snow:  January 9, 2011 (8 months)  We bundled Paxton up in snowpants, boots, jacket, gloves, and a hat, took him outside and sat him in the snow.  He LOVED it!

First time to say 'Da da':  (8 months)  Alan couldn't be more happy that this was his first word!

First time crawling:  (8 months)  Paxton had been doing the army crawl for a good month before he started crawling.

First time to pull himself up on furniture: (8 1/2 months)  He loves to stand, so he is pulling himself up on anything in sight!

First time to say 'Ma ma':  (8 1/2 months)  LOVE IT!  He screamed 'Ma maaa' when Daddy was feeding him :)

First time to wave bye-bye:  (10 months)  He throws his hands in the air and waves them like he just don't care.

First time to go to the zoo:  March 11, 2011 (10 months)  Poor baby was a little under the weather that day.  We'll try again soon!

First tooth:  (11 months) Woohoo, we've got a tooth!  It's his upper left tooth that decided to pop through first.

First time to take three or more steps:  May 6, 2011 (one week shy of 12 months)  Although he had been standing up on his own for a couple of weeks, Paxton took his first steps at one year old!

First time to discover his love for music:  (12 months) Every time he hears music, he starts bobbing up and down.

First time to poop in the bathtub:  June 11, 2011 (13 months) Pax thought it was pretty funny and even tried to grab 'it'.  We had no clue where to even start cleaning it up.

First haircut:  July 24, 2011 (14 months) Pax's Great-Grandpa Sandoval, who is a barber, cut his hair.  It was a special moment!

First ear infection:  November 14, 2011 (1 1/2 yrs)  First ear infection = first round of antibiotics...ever.

First time to say "I Love You":  February 25, 2012 (21 months)  This is by far the sweetest, most heart melting thing to hear from your son!  A few days later, he looked up at mommy, gave her a kiss, and said "I Yuv You."  Love it!!!

First time to go pee pee in the potty:  June 14, 2012 (25 months) Paxton went pee pee in the potty twice in a row.  He was sooo proud of himself!  He even let me know beforehand that he needed to go.

First time to sing ABCs:  (2 1/2 years) Paxton learned his ABCs at daycare and sings it very well!

First time to sleep in toddler bed:  (2 1/2 years) He loves his new big boy bed.  Taking naps in it took some getting used to because he had the freedom to get out and play, but he never had a problem sleeping in it at night.

First time to go poo poo in the potty:  January 10, 2013 (31 months) Although he has gone in the potty before only because I took him and sat him down, this time Paxton told me to turn the bathroom light on, proceeded to undress, asked me to put him on the potty and close the door.  Next thing I know, he's opening the door, running out saying, "Momma, I go poo poo in my big boy potty!!!"  And sure enough, he did.

Pottytrained!  3 years old Paxton is almost fully potty trained.  He knows when to go and makes it to the big boy potty 99% of the time.  We still struggle a little with night time, but we're so close!

BLAKELY

Birthday:  September 9, 2012

First bath at home:  September 14, 2012 (5 days)  Blakely wasn't too fond of baths at first.  She's warmed up to them though.  I've been giving her baths in the bathroom sink, but need to start giving them to her in her baby tub since she's getting so big!

First time to smile:  (10 weeks)  Such a sweet smile!

First time to sleep through the night: (10 1/2 weeks) Blakely slept a good 6-7 hours at a time for about a week. Then she regressed and woke up numerous throughout the night until she was just over 4 months old. After 4 months, she's been waking up at least once to eat real quick, then falls back to sleep.

First sleepover (not family):  November 2012 (2 months)  Her and Pax stayed at Miss Zinet's house while we went to the Margarita Ball.
First snow:  December 25, 2012 (3 1/2 months)  We didn't take her outside since she was still too small.
First ear infection/sickness:  January 10, 2013 (4 months)  Blakely got RSV and a viral ear infection from it.  We're thankful we didn't have to put her on antibiotics at such a young age (since it was viral).
First time eating solid food:  January 11, 2013 (4 months)  Rice cereal.  We just put a little bit in her bottle to help her stay full longer so she'll sleep throughout the night.  We'll start giving it to her with a spoon at around 6 months.

First time blowing raspberries:  January 14, 2013 (4 months)  Blakely just started blowing bubbles out of the blue.  So, I tried blowing bubbles after her to see what she would do, and and she copied me!

First time to roll over:  January 15, 2013 (4 months)  We were wondering when she'd start rolling...she took a little longer than Pax because she's a little chunk :-)  She rolled from her tummy to her back.

First road trip: January 11, 2013 (4 months) To Austin, TX. She did amazing! Slept the whole way there and back waking up once each way to eat. She was an angel the whole trip!

First time to sleep in crib AND sleep through the night:  6 months  We finally got Blakely set up in her own crib and she loves it!

First time to crawl, sit up on her own, and hold her own bottle:  8 months  She's still perfecting her crawl, but she can get from point A to B pretty quickly.  Blakely can also sit up on her own and she's a pro at holding her own bottle.
